The Silurian Choir
Welcome to the home page of The Silurian Choir, a new choral and orchestral society formed in January
2002 based in Tewkesbury on the borders of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire under the joint musical
directorship of Neil Fortin and John Wilderspin.
Our aim is to
prepare and present 4 different musical programmes each year using both orchestral and
organ accompaniment as funds allow. We aim to be a friendly society and to ensure that
internal politics are never allowed to override musical considerations!
The Silurian Choir will consider giving concerts in any church in the
Gloucestershire/Worcestershire area provided there is an organ of at least 2 manuals
in a reasonable state of repair. We would be delighted to hear from any parish that
would like to include a concert in their social or fund raising calendar.
We are always on the look out for additional singers, our choir rehearses on Thursday
evenings, from 7:30 - 9:15pm, in Tewkesbury Methodist Church. We would also be delighted
to hear from instrumental players, who should be of "near professional" standard, interested
in playing in our orchestra.
